Looking for something fun to do next Tuesday evening? Then stop by Summersville Public Library on Tuesday, January 27 at 6pm, where local author and award winning screen writer Cynthia Hagan-Kallai will be holding a book release party for her debut novel, The Disappearance of Daniel Klein. The novel, set in Nazi occupied Europe, tells the story of Daniel Klein, a boy magician with mismatched eyes (one blue, one green), who, while imprisoned in a concentration camp, captures the dark interest of Nazi research scientist Karl Vendel.
Cynthia began her writing career in the film industry and is an optioned and commissioned screenwriter. She is also a documentarian and a credited story researcher/story consultant on the World War II documentary, Operation Valkyrie: The Stauffenberg Conspiracy. Her original screenplay, The Disappearance of Daniel Klein, upon which her novel is based, was chosen by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as a Nicholl Fellowship top 50 screenplay in 2013.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the party (as well as anywhere else books are sold), and light refreshments will be served.
